The application is intended for authorized maritime engineers and personnel to perform vessel inspections, radio communication equipment services and installations, gyro-related inspections, survey activities, operational reporting, document management, engineer presence management and other related professional activities.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SJV EYE may collect, how that information is used, how it is stored and protected, when it may be shared, how long certain information is retained, and the rights available to users of the application.

SJV EYE provides Radio Communication (RadComm) service and installation reporting functionality.

2.6 Survey and Checklist Information
Users may enter survey checklist information, equipment condition, observations, responses, measurements, survey dates, survey status, service details and other information required for generating professional survey reports.

SJV EYE may allow users to capture or select photographs and supporting files for inspection, survey and service reports.

- Vessel photographs

- Service and installation photographs

2.8 Signatures and Company Stamps
Authorized users may upload and manage digital representations of engineer signatures and authorized company stamps for use in generating official inspection, survey and service reports.
2.9 Engineer Presence and Location Information
SJV EYE includes functionality that may allow an authorized engineer to explicitly share their current location for legitimate operational presence and workforce coordination purposes.
When this functionality is used, the application may collect and process precise geographic location information obtained from the device's location services. This may include latitude, longitude, location accuracy, a location-derived address, geofence status, approximate distance from an authorized office location, presence status and associated date and time information.
Location information may be associated with an engineer's presence status, such as office check-in, office departure, work-from-home activity or other authorized operational status.
Location information is collected only for the operational purposes supported by the relevant feature and is not intended to be used for advertising or commercial location profiling.

Information collected through SJV EYE is used primarily to provide professional maritime inspection, reporting and operational services.

4. Engineer Presence and Location Services
Certain SJV EYE functionality requires access to device location services. Location access is used to support authorized engineer presence, office check-in/check-out, geofence verification and operational location-sharing functionality.
Depending on the functionality being used, location information may include:
- Latitude and longitude
- Location accuracy
- Location-derived address
- Approximate distance from an authorized office location
- Geofence status
- Presence status associated with the location
- Date and time associated with the presence event
When an engineer explicitly initiates a presence or location-sharing action, the relevant location information may be securely transmitted to SJV Marine's authorized backend services and made available to authorized personnel for legitimate operational purposes.
SJV EYE does not use location information for advertising, marketing or sale to third parties.
Location sharing is not intended to provide continuous background tracking of users. Location information is collected in connection with supported presence and operational workflows and according to the permissions granted by the user and the functionality being used.
Location and presence-related location records are automatically deleted from the applicable backend storage after 45 days. This automatic deletion applies to the applicable location and presence-location records and does not mean that other inspection, survey, service, account or legally required business records are automatically deleted after 45 days.
5. Authentication and Account Security
SJV EYE uses authenticated access controls to protect application data.
- Email and password authentication.
- Email verification using One-Time Password (OTP).
- Secure password hashing.
- Authenticated API communication.
- HTTPS encrypted network communication.
- JWT-based authenticated sessions.
- Role-based access control.
- Session expiration and authentication controls.
Certain application information and administrative functionality may only be accessible to users with appropriate authorization.
6. Role-Based Access and Administrative Access
SJV EYE uses role-based authorization to restrict access to certain application functionality and information.
Depending on the user's assigned role, access may be limited to the user's own information and reports or may include additional authorized operational functionality.
Certain authorized administrative or operational roles may be permitted to view user activity, presence information, completed inspection sessions, service records and generated reports where required for legitimate SJV Marine operational purposes.
Access to such information is restricted through backend authorization controls and is not provided to ordinary users solely because the information exists within the application system.

8. Location Permission and User Control
Location permission is required only for SJV EYE functionality that depends on location information, such as engineer presence, office check-in/check-out and geofence verification.
Users can manage location permissions through Android system settings. If location access is disabled or unavailable, location-dependent functionality may not operate correctly.
SJV EYE does not require continuous location access for ordinary inspection, survey or reporting activities.
Granting location permission does not mean that SJV Marine continuously tracks the user's location. Location information is processed in connection with the applicable authorized operational functionality.
9. Data Storage
Application account information, inspection information, survey data, service information, report metadata and related operational records are stored on authorized SJV Marine backend infrastructure.
Uploaded files and generated reports may be stored on secured server-side storage associated with the relevant inspection, survey or service session.
Generated PDF files may also be temporarily cached on the user's device to allow report preview, download and sharing.
Location and presence-related location records are subject to an automatic retention period of 45 days. Applicable location records are automatically deleted after this period.
Other application records, including inspection, survey, service, account and report records, may have different retention periods based on their operational, contractual, security or legal requirements.
10. Data Sharing
SJV Marine does not sell or rent user personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Information may be processed or disclosed only where necessary for legitimate application and business operations, including:
- Operating SJV EYE backend infrastructure.
- Generating inspection, survey and service reports.
- Delivering transactional account verification emails.
- Providing authorized operational services.
- Supporting authorized engineer presence management.
- Maintaining application security.

Location information is accessible only to authorized personnel and services that require such information for legitimate operational purposes supported by SJV EYE.
11. Email Verification and Transactional Communications
SJV EYE may use a transactional email service provider to deliver account verification OTPs and other necessary service-related communications.
These communications are used for authentication, account security, Work From Home workflows and application functionality and are not intended to constitute advertising communications.
12. Inspection Reports and Generated PDFs
SJV EYE generates professional PDF reports from information entered by authorized users during inspection, survey, service and installation sessions.
Generated reports may contain vessel information, equipment details, engineer observations, photographs, signatures, stamps, dates, service information and other information entered during the relevant session.
Reports are made available only through authorized application functionality and access controls.
13. Session Management and Editing
SJV EYE may allow authorized users to save incomplete sessions, resume previously interrupted sessions and, where permitted, edit completed sessions.
When a completed session is edited, the application may update the associated report data and regenerate the corresponding PDF report.
Access to session information is controlled according to the user's authorization level.
14. AI-Assisted Features
SJV EYE may provide optional AI-assisted functionality to help users improve engineer report wording, obtain application assistance, correct written content or understand application features.
If AI-assisted functionality is enabled, information submitted by the user to the AI feature may be processed by the applicable AI service provider for the purpose of generating the requested response.
Users should not submit passwords, authentication credentials, confidential personal information or other information that is not necessary for the requested AI assistance.
AI-generated suggestions are provided as assistance and should be reviewed by the engineer before being included in an official inspection or service report.
15. Third-Party Services and Components
SJV EYE may use trusted third-party libraries and service providers required to provide application functionality.
- Google ML Kit for supported text recognition functionality.
- AndroidX libraries for application functionality.
- Retrofit and OkHttp for secure API communication.
- PDF rendering libraries for report preview.
- Transactional email infrastructure for OTP and service emails.
- Push notification infrastructure for supported operational notifications.
- Other infrastructure or service providers required to operate authorized application functionality.
Third-party components may process limited information according to their respective services and applicable privacy policies.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. SJV Marine continuously reviews and improves security controls appropriate to the application and its operational requirements.
17. Data Retention
Different categories of information may have different retention periods depending on their purpose.
Engineer location and presence-related location records are automatically deleted after 45 days. The 45-day retention period is specifically applicable to the relevant location information collected for presence and operational location-sharing functionality.
Account information, inspection records, survey records, service records, generated reports and other business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the application's services, maintain business and inspection records, satisfy contractual requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Therefore, the 45-day automatic deletion period for location information does not apply to all information stored or processed by SJV EYE.
18. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their SJV EYE account where applicable through the available account deletion process or by contacting SJV Marine.
Account deletion requests may be subject to verification and applicable legal, contractual, safety, operational or record-retention requirements.
Location and presence-related location records are automatically deleted after the applicable 45-day retention period.
Certain inspection, service, financial, security or legally required records may need to be retained even after an account deletion request, where permitted or required by applicable law.

Subject to applicable law and legitimate business requirements, users may have the right to:
- Request access to their personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of their account.

- Withdraw optional permissions through Android settings.

SJV EYE is a professional maritime application intended for authorized business and engineering personnel. It is not directed toward children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly design the application to collect personal information from children.

Information processed through SJV EYE may be stored and processed on servers and through service providers used by SJV Marine to operate the application.
Where information is processed across jurisdictions, SJV Marine will take reasonable measures appropriate to applicable legal requirements for such processing.
